New Club Centurion

What a marvelous day for Crosby Cricket club last evening down at the Marown Playing Fields.

First up we had the junior training session from 5:15pm all together due to the B team Blincoe Cup match against the current champions , Peel and St Johns to follow at 6.30pm

In glorious sunshine it was amazing to see so many juniors down at training with 48 lads either training in the nets  or on the 2 temporary pitches on the field which had been set up for the U9 tournament to be played at Crosby this Sunday.

Then the highlight of the day when Crosby B comprehensively beat Peel and St Johns to move into the semi-final of the Blincoe Cup.

The victory was cemented with the 2nd highest ever partnership in the club's history of 187 runs for the 1st wickets which was an unbroken stand.

Congratulations to Harry Rothwell and Drew Buxton for this marvelous effort with Harry making 122 not out and Drew 36 not out. What makes this achievement even more momentous was the fact that this was only a 20/20 match making a century is some mean feat against excellent opposition. Peel and St John reply was 139/9 with Crosby winning by 49 runs

Harry becomes the 8th centurion of the club, following in the footsteps of :

Leon Sayle

Simon Watson

Gareth Rowlands

Mark (Postie) Quinn

Kevin Kniveton

Danny Kniveton
